Handleless kitchen has arrived…

Our latest product the "Zesta Linea Nouveau" is a handleless kitchen offering smooth lines to provide that contemporary feel. Handleless kitchens are the latest trend in European design and dominant in the Milan Eurocucina Fair earlier this year.  This high quality kitchen is made from gloss painted doors ensuring they last longer and more durable than two pack painted doors.  The type of two pack painted doors commonly offered in Australia tend to chip or scratch over time causing customers headaches and losing the sophistication of their kitchen.  This door uses the most up to date technology of poly paint that is superb for the glossy finish.  Gentle finger pull is all that is needed to open the drawers and cupboards! Being handless means this style of kitchen is perfect for any home kitchen renovation and best of all clothing or other items will not be hooked on kitchen handles Read More

Hampton Style Kitchen

We are very excited about our new Zesta Hampton Kitchen.  The Hamptons originated from New York and was always seen as the wealthy, sophisticated yet elegant look whilst being bright, breezy and providing adequate natural light. This type of sophistication is one that is both balanced and relaxed and so suitable to the Australian lifestyle providing both warmth and desire. With the assistance of a matte door you can create your own Hamptons style kitchen matching in rangehoods and appliances to suit this design to create that warmth so known to this style.  Our professional kitchen designers will be happy to help you in your journey to create the perfect design and we think with a touch of Dulux Natural white paint and a splash of colour or a warm benchtop will ensure a subtle but warm kitchen which will look stunning.  The cup handles certainly top off the sophistication. White kitchens look great in any home

White kitchens are on the top of the list for most popular and we think that’s because they never date.  White always looks sharp and fresh in any home. Sounds simple to choose a white kitchen and once you choose the finish be it gloss or matte we know it will be one of the best decisions you can make.  With a white kitchen you can always add splashes of colour or mix it up with a simple vase of coloured flowers and some black pendant lights as seen here can provide that “added touch” to create warmth! A tip to remember when designing white kitchens - although they can look clean and fresh a complete white look can also look ‘cold’.  Important to remember to break the white up and a popular choice these days to prevent this is by adding timber.  Not only will your white kitchen look Read More

Did you know Zesta also designs Laundries?

Women spend 16% of their day and men 13% doing laundry according to American Time Use Survey - that's a lot of time in the laundry! Therefore, you really want a nice surrounding where you can dump all the clothes, washing baskets and even hide that fold out clothes rack for those wet items to dry when time poor or too wet to pop on the line before heading out the door. We are very proud of our fresh, clean laundries being installed for our customers around Melbourne.  Laundries cupboards are available in any style door door and in this case can even be matched to your kitchen style as most of our customers are finding works well.  Quite often the laundry is hidden behind the kitchen or in close proximity for ease of cooking and washing simultaneously. A large benchtop space will ensure lots of room for powders, household Read More

Eurocucina and trends for Melbourne’s pre-eminent Kitchen Designers

The Eurocucina has always been a trendsetting affair for European kitchen design, and this year, it was no different. Designers from all over the world convened in Milan recently for this week-long event, and shared some of the most cutting-edge kitchen layout and technologies to be found anywhere. If there was one kitchen design trend that dominated in Milan this past month, it was style that took in to account the needs of all types of spaces from small to larger. The smaller kitchens found in most inner-city homes, both in Europe and abroad, create an interesting challenge for many, who must make use of appliances and layouts that reflect this reality, while retaining functionality and elegance. Perhaps that best example trend is the almost complete lack of exposed handles on cabinets. Nearly all of the newer design examples incorporated a hidden or flush design, some with bevelled top edges Read More

EuroCucina trends heading to Melbourne Kitchens

EuroCucina or Salone del Mobile as the Italians call it, recently showcased the new kitchen technology in Milan.  This worldwide exhibition was first created in 1974 and is world-renowned for future trends with many of the world leaders showcasing prototype kitchens for the future.  The Directors of Zesta Kitchens were able to view kitchens from manufacturers from all over the world including Italy, UK, Germany, Spain just to name a few.  The cutting edge, high-quality kitchen designs and layouts were nothing short of the “wow” factor that is known at EuroCucina. It is difficult to identify a dominating theme but certainly “handless” kitchens were prevalent.  It seems the push to open style is less popular than the new types of door allowing a simple hand pull that is hidden, built into the back of the top of the cupboard, or a bevelled top edge slope door where the hand can Read More

Kitchen Designing

Interesting article by Bill Miller (KBBG UK), about the evolution of designing kitchens and the increased time required to "get it right" resulting in possible charging for design services in the UK kitchen industry - “Serious consideration now needs to be given to whether retailers should charge for their kitchen design service. At least by doing so, the designer is getting a commitment from the customer." Not sure we agree with this line as we believes working with the customer to design around the family needs is integral to helping them achieve their new kitchen. Of course we can understand their line of thinking as the design service is integral and can take several hours and even days to ensure customer satisfaction but should be part of customer service in our minds!
