This Mount Martha home underwent a whole-house renovation. Central to the renovation was new Kitchen, Laundry and living room which Zesta Kitchens designed and supplied.
As can be seen in the before photo above, the parquetry flooring that was once very popular now looks dated when viewed in conjunction with Kitchen. In addition, the flow and functionality of the kitchen space needed improvement.
Central to the brief was for the style to be more consistent with the rest of the spaces within the home.
When our lovely clients first visited our Zesta Kitchens Showroom they set about creating their vision.
Being such a large project it was important to ensure the design worked for the family when using it over the holidays. As a holiday home, the flow within the kitchen space needed to be improved and it was important that a large island bench for entertaining was incorporated.
The clients were looking for a brighter yet modern space to freshen up their Mount Martha holiday home. The choice of Qualia white matt with sublime teak overheads and at the front of the island bench now provides a modern scandi look that is fresh and vibrant. The handleless cabinetry helps keep the kitchen streamlined.
As displayed the kitchen is now open and bright with dual access around the kitchen bench. Removing the bank of cabinetry from the side of the kitchen improved the flow in and out of the kitchen. This also made it easier to access to appliances like the fridge, microwave, and oven.
The addition of the larger island bench has increased the meal preparation area for entertaining. The choice of Caesarstone Fresh Concrete with waterfall ends maintains the fresh element to this kitchen space.
The new design provided extra much-needed storage. The pot drawers and pantry perfectly help keep the benchtops free of clutter. Finally, the beautiful penny royal tiling sets off this space perfectly.
The clients were very happy with the design especially the flow of the kitchen which now functions better for the family.
Adjoining this room is the living space. The same Qualia matt white cabinetry with Caesarstone benchtops was used for consistency and look stunning when lounging on the sofa. Kid’s toys can easily be stored in the living room and retrieved when required.
The final room designed was the laundry downstairs. While a smaller space, a key here was to design a place where dirty clothes could be stored. The extra-deep laundry baskets are beautifully hidden behind the sublime teak cabinetry. After all, who wants to see washing when they are on holiday!
As you can see, the laundry cabinetry was matched to the kitchen cabinetry for continuity of style throughout the home. Some pull handles were added here to match in with the sink.
This design features so many elements that we love which has been transformed into a modern, scandi feel with great flow and functionality. The clients are over the moon and the house is now ready to enjoy over summer holidays with family and friends.
